Facebook is offering its users a first-of-its-kind bounty to help detect large data leaks. The social media giant today announced a bounty program that would compensate people who find any data abuse on its platforms. Payouts will start at 500 dollars and can grow to 40-thousand for big discoveries. A bug bounty team of ten people will vet and investigate any reports and recommend what action to take, from shutting down an app, suing the data leaker or doing an on-site audit of the company that is buying or selling unauthorized information.
