Meet Beau! Beau is around 6 years old and is a medium sized mixed breed fella. He is a super sweet and chill guy who would thrive in just about any loving environment. In addition to being an easy going guy with people, Beau did well with other dogs both at the shelter and in his previous home. Beau would love to spend summer (and beyond!) out of the shelter and in a home.
From now until May 30th, all dogs over 30 lbs (and those that will ultimately be over 30 lbs as adults such as puppies Kurt and Brittany--and their thirteen litter-mates) have a reduced adoption fee of $30. That adoption fee includes all the usual medical care such as age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and microchipping. Animal Friends is full, full, full so we'd love to get some of these cuties into their forever homes for the holiday weekend!
Speaking of, we'll be closed for Memorial Day Monday but open our regular business hours both Saturday and Sunday.
The day begins with a chip-timed 5K (3.1-mile) for people only, followed by our leisurely 1.5 mile Dog Jog. Don’t want to run/walk? Then come and cheer on participants and enjoy our race party. We will have snacks for human and dog participants. The Petmobile will be attending if you are looking to bring home a new family member. And we will be hosting many exciting vendors.

5K Registration is $40. Race Day registration is $45. Dog Jog Registration is $20. Race day registration is $25. Participants can jog or walk our 1.5 mile route with your dog by your side or consider “renting” one of our shelter dogs to be your walking buddy! The Dog Jog will not be a timed event.
