Dog of the week - Whiskey

Whiskey is a one and a half year old hound/retriever mix who came into the shelter back in May and has been patiently waiting for a forever family for over 200 days! When Whiskey originally came to us he was heartworm positive, but he’s completed his treatment and is now negative! During his recovery Whiskey spent some time in a foster home where we learned he is housetrained and has great home manners! He lived with another dog in the home and overall did very well, but should be fed and given high value treats in separate areas. He'd appreciate getting a chance to meet any doggie siblings before going home with them. Whiskey is overall a super sweet and playful boy who has been a model patient through his heartworm treatment and deserves to now live his happiest, healthiest life with a forever family who loves him. Can you make that wish come true?

Animal Friends Humane Society is ready to spread some holiday cheer, which is why we’re kicking off our Furever Homes for the Holidays Event! Help make this season the most wonderful time of the year for dogs and cats in need by helping them find loving, forever homes!

Beginning Monday, December 12th and going until Thursday, January 5th Animal Friends is offering several holiday discounts in the hopes of helping animals find and/or return to their furever homes! These holiday discounts include:

- $50 Dog & Puppy Adoptions*

- $5 Cat & Kitten Adoptions

- Reclaim and Redemption Fees Waived*! Additionally, those who are reclaiming their pet can get them microchipped at the same time for 50% off ($10!)

- We are also greatly encouraging members of the public to make sure their pets are microchipped in order to greatly increase their chances of being safely returned home if they ever do become lost! Microchipping is a service Animal Friends offers for only $20 any time during our open hours, no appointment necessary!

*In accordance with Ohio law those adopting or reclaiming a dog will still need to purchase a dog license.
