Lucy is a 3-year-old brindle pit bull mix looking for her forever family. She's been at Animal Friends for just a little over 2 weeks. Lucy was found running loose and taken in by a concerned citizen, who said she was such a good girl with her young kids in the short time they had her while looking for her owner. After nobody in the neighborhood recognized Lucy, she was brought to Animal Friends to be held in hopes that her owner would come looking for her. We never had anyone come to claim her, so she's up for adoption and in need of a new family.
Lucy knows commands like sit, down, and shake. She walks very well on a leash and would make a good family pet since she does well with young kids. She does well when meeting other dogs at the shelter, loves her walks in the nature trails with our volunteers, and snuggles up with her blanket each night for bedtime. Lucy is up-to-date with all of her vetting, already spayed, and has an adoption fee of $125.
It's Petsmart's National Adoption Weekend, so our Petmobile will be at the Bridgewater (Fairfield Twp.) and Voice of America (West Chester) Petsmart stores Friday through Sunday. We will have several of our longest dog residents (100+ days) attending these events in hopes of finding their forever families, as well as plenty of kittens looking for homes. Anyone interested can meet up with us Friday and Sunday at Bridgewater from Noon-4, and Saturday at VOA from 11-4.
And just a reminder, we still have our $5 cat/kitten adoption special going on through the end of this month.
