Southwest Week continues as Eddie enjoys his vacation in New Mexico... And it can't be Southwest Week without this one from America. The working title of this song was 'Desert Song' but it came to be known as 'A Horse With No Name'. Writer Dewey Bunnell says he remembered his childhood travels through the Arizona and New Mexico deserts when his family lived at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Bunnell has explained that "A Horse with No Name" was "a metaphor for a vehicle to get away from life's confusion into a quiet, peaceful place".
