70's week continues on SOTD with an interesting story.....'War' was originally written for The Temptations who even recorded it to release....Motown, though, decided that the protest nature of the song might hurt the temps image, so they turned it over to another motown artist, Edwin Starr. It came out in march of '70 and went on the become a giant hit for Starr!!
