The largest Burmese python ever seen in South Florida is no longer slithering around the Everglades. The South Florida Water Management District announced a snake hunter caught a female that was 17 feet, five inches long and weighed 120 pounds. This is the third python longer than 17 feet to be caught as part of the agency's elimination program. Nearly 2,000 of the invasive species have been removed because they represent a threat to the delicate Everglades ecosystem.
