Russia's Foreign Ministry is appointing actor Steven Seagal as a "special representative" on U.S.-Russian humanitarian issues. Russia's Ministry of Foreign affairs released a statement saying the unpaid role will involve promoting U.S.-Russian relations "in the humanitarian sphere." Seagal became a Russian citizen back in 2016 and is reportedly close friends with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Seagal has even gone as far as to defend Russia in the ongoing investigation into U.S. election meddling.
