A five-foot-long boa constrictor is in the hands of animal services officials after it was discovered loose in a rental car that had been returned to the Oakland International Airport Wednesday afternoon. The rental car company notified the Alameda County Sheriff's Office of the bizarre discovery and a knowledgeable deputy determined the reptile was safe to handle. The customers who rented the car say they have no idea how the snake got there or how long it had been a passenger, adding they are willing to adopt it if the rightful owners don't turn up.
