New York City's proposed ban on plastic straws is getting another push today. Lawmakers are holding a noon rally at City Hall in support of a bill that would ban all single-use plastic straws and coffee stirrers by restaurants in the Big Apple. It's an effort to cut down on plastic waste that often ends up in the ocean, hurting whales and dolphins. Several other cities have banned plastic straws including Miami Beach, Seattle and Malibu.
