Study Says Sex Is Good For Your Brain

Having trouble remembering things? More sex might be the answer... A new study, published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, says people over the age of 50 can improve their short-term memory by having an active sex life.

Back in 2012, 6,016 men and women participated in the study which involved a memory test and questionnaires about the participants general health, sexual activities, their emotional connections to their partners, and their diets. In 2014 the questionnaires and memory test were repeated with researchers from the University of Wollongong in Australia analyzing the changes over the two-year span.

Researchers discovered that participants that were more sexually active had better short-term memory recall than people who had less sex. Unfortunately, there was no impact on long-term memory but it is believed that exercise may help on that front.
