An Upstate teacher is accused of allowing students to perform sex acts in her class. The state Board of Education announced recently that Byrnes High School art teacher Elizabeth Bennett, who has been teaching for 24 years, resigned four months ago over the allegations. She was placed on leave in December after the Spartanburg County School first learned of the incidents that apparently happened more than once. The education board says Bennett was shocked when she was confronted with the allegations. Apparently students at the back of her art class were not always visible from the front of the room. Incidents of a sexual nature occurred several times.
