( Cincinnati ) - He announced his candidacy for mayor last year, but in a post on Facebook, suspended Cincinnati City Councilman PG Sittenfeld says he will not run for mayor after all.
He continues to assert his innocence and says he is working every day to achieve justice, but says running for mayor would distract voters from important issues facing the city and it would put undue stress on his family.
Sittenfeld was indicted by a federal grand jury on corruption charges in November, accusing him of taking money in exchange for votes on council related to a development project. He agreed to a suspension from council in December.
