Fifth Third Statement Describes Pain and Fear in Victim Shot 12 Times

( Cincinnati ) - Fifth Third Bank has released a statement describing what one of the survivors of Thursday's shooting on Fountain Square went through.

Whitney Austin was walking in to the bank when she was shot twelve times by the gunman. She describes thinking she was dying and telling first responders that she has children and "they need their mommy."

Austin was in surgery for seven hours to repair damage to her right arm and more surgeries and therapy is expected. 

The family of Prudhvi Kandepi is trying to raise money so the body of the 25-year-old can be sent back to India for burial. The GoFundMe campaign can be found here.
