( Cincinnati, OH ) - Prudhvi Raj Kandepi, 25, was one of four people killed Thursday, when a gunman opened fire on Fountain Square.
His family now needs help getting him back home to India. In a statement sent out Saturday morning, they say a GoFundMe page has now been set up:
"Prudhvi Raj Kandepia was an inspiration to all who knew him. A graduate of University of California-Riverside and Vellore Institute of Technology, India (VIT), he was a beautiful soul and a happy person who got along with everyone.
He spread cheer, excitement and enthusiasm — his smile was contagious and his eyes were full of dreams. Prudhvi travelled far and worked hard to provide a better life for his parents and younger sister. However, all those aspirations and dreams were shattered in a senseless act of gun violence at the Fifth Third Center in Cincinnati. His parents, relatives and friends are overwhelmed by grief.
Please assist Tarangini, a non-profit Telugu association in Cincinnati, in helping raise funds to transport Prudhvi‘s body back to India and with the costs associated for his funeral. Any remainder raised will go toward his family. Please pass this message on to your friends and colleagues, so we can maximize our efforts in helping Prudhvi’s family. Thank you. #CincinnatiStrong"
