Western and Southern Open Semifinal Alcaraz vs Hurkacz

The road to the semifinals of the Western and Southern Open for Hubert Hurkacz was a wild one. After defeating Aussie Thanasis Kokkinakis in the 1st round, he would defeat defending Western and Southern Open Champion Borna Coric, 2022 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas, and qualifier Alexei Popyrin in succession to head to a showdown with world number 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

This would be the end of the run for Hurkacz as Alcaraz would defeat Hurkacz in three sets to move onto the final, and face off against Novak Djokovic who defeated Sasha Zverev later in the evening.
