Bengals 2017 Preseason Schedule

The Bengals’ 2017 preseason schedule features a nationally televised game at Washington, home dates against Tampa Bay and Kansas City and a finale on the road against regional rival Indianapolis.

“Our preseason schedule features four quality opponents who will provide a good test to our players heading into the regular season,” said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. “It’s great for our fans to be able to have the opportunity to view the team nationally during the preseason for the eighth time in eight years.”

“Preseason games are an important time to evaluate talent, especially as some of our newest Bengals take the field for the first time,” said Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin. “We will have a lot of young players showcasing their abilities, including potentially 11 draft picks this year.”

The only preseason game whose exact date and kickoff time is presently known is Game 3, on Sunday, Aug. 27 at Washington. The 4:30 p.m. game will be nationally televised by FOX. The Bengals’ last preseason matchup with the Redskins was in 2006. The Bengals lead the preseason series 5-2-1.

Dates and kickoff times for the other three games are to be announced later this month, and those games will be on the Bengals Preseason TV Network.

The preseason home opener will be during the weekend of Aug. 10-14, against Tampa Bay. The Bengals’ last preseason game against the Buccaneers was in 2015. Tampa Bay leads the preseason series 9-4.

The second preseason home game, against Kansas City, will be during the weekend of Aug. 17-21. The Bengals last played the Chiefs in preseason in 2014. The Bengals will seek their first preseason win against the Chiefs, who lead the preseason series 8-0.

The preseason finale at Indianapolis will be played on Aug. 31 or Sept. 1. The game will be the 25th preseason meeting between the two teams in the last 26 years, and the 26th meeting overall. The Bengals lead the series 16-9. Cincinnati vs. Indianapolis is the closest geographical rivalry among cities in the AFC, with a driving distance of 110 miles.
