We have a yellow jacket nest......in the ground of our front yard? I bought spray and the can says it shoots from 27 feet away?

Anyone else randomly take their kid's car to get it washed/cleaned out because it looks like they are living in it....and it bugs you more than them?

The next time you make a sandwich, cut it in triangles. I felt like a kid at the school lunch table.

With a disappointing season and no Redsfest, what are the Reds going to do this offseason to create enthusiasm and optimism?

Saddened to hear of the closing of Great Crescent Brewing in Aurora. One of 69 breweries we visited and enjoyed within 50 miles of home, the 5th to close. Thoughts and prayers to the family as they deal with health issues.

I sat up in bed at 3:36 Thursday morning to the following thought: In my lifetime, the Reds made the playoffs six times in the 1970's: 1970-72-73-75-76-79. The Reds have made the playoffs a total of six times since then.....6 since 1980...6 over the last 44 years

Let's not misunderstand the situation. Ja'Marr Chase has created a story. The media is covering that story.

I don't think I could ever buy and move into someone else's house. Just seems weird.

Gone in 60 Seconds is such a good movie. I stop and watch every time I come across it. What a cast.

In my continuing growth and development as a country music fan, I'd like to say I love "Hell Yeah" by Montgomery Gentry.

Other songs I heard and liked this week: Cowboy Songs by George Birge, Boots Stop Workin' by Dasha

Made a first time visit to Velocity Bike & Bean in Florence this week. Coffee shop/Bike shop. Cool place. Excellent Muddy Spokes signature coffee.

The Bengals didn't show up for the Hamilton County Commissioner's presentation of Paycor Stadium Renovation Plans this week. Pretty bold.

I'm impressed, if not stunned that Kelly and Peyton stopped at Coors Field to catch a Rockies game on their girls' trip to Colorado! And stayed until the final out.

What was the name of the V shaped ice cream treat that had a gumball in the bottom of the plastic shell?

I rarely properly execute the initial 'Tear Here' point on packages like shredded cheese.

Heaven help the Bengals if they've spent as much time worrying about the officiating last week as the fans have. Move. On.

I broke my ring finger in a softball slide at home plate...the week before our wedding. Kelly could only slide the ring to my knuckle.

If I could be a TV character in real life for 24 hours, I'd be Jack Bauer from '24'. I'd carry schematics and that satchel over my shoulder.

Do you remember Topps Wacky Packs? They were cards featuring parodies of consumer products.

I believe Peyton thinks the E on her gas gauge stands for Everything Fine.

I remember Coors being a national craze when I was a kid. It wasn't sold east of Colorado. My dad brought some home from a trip and I put a can on the shelf of my beer can collection.

I'm anchored to the Reds by the Big Red Machine of my youth. I hope the Reds realize that most Millennials and younger dont give a #*@& about the Big Red Machine. Few have a working knowledge of the Wire-to-Wire Reds...from 34 years ago. What will create/anchor fans going forward?

Raise your hand if your wife/daughter would go on a girl's trip and decide to go to a baseball game (Coors Field) and stay until the final out? Props to Kelly and Peyton.

I do a Bengals segment by phone with Mike McConnell every Thursday morning at 7:20. I'm working on a Cal Ripken like streak of 16 straight years without missing the phone call. Last week, my alarm didn't go off. I opened my eyes at 7:18. Jumped out of bed and ran down stairs to make it. Whew!

Maybe Kelly and I will start a coffee shop tour within 50 miles of our driveway?

I find it creepy that the voice of Jimmy Dean is used in commercials for his sausage, even though he died in 2010.

Don't worry about things you don't care about.

I posted my first edition of Random Thoughts in September of 2022. I really thought it would be a one time post.

The longer I do this, the more challenging it has become. Sometimes I think I've emptied my mind of all my thoughts. I don't want the segment to become forced just to post it on Friday.

I've decided to make it more true to the title and post the segment on a random basis. That might be every other week, every couple of weeks. Not sure.

Hope you understand. Hope you will continue reading, when I do post the segment. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
