One for the dogs: Reds lose.....again

Leading 2-1, the Padres plated three runs in the 5th to knock Nick Martinez out of the game and then effectively TKO’d the offensively challenged Reds when they took a 7-1 lead in the 6th. 

The Reds fall to 20-29. That’s 25 games since they last won to back-back games (April 23-24). The Reds have lost 16 of 20 overall and 8 of 9 at GABP.

The Padres outhit the Reds 14-6. The Reds have nine hits the last two nights. It's the 24th time in 49 games the Reds have scored 3 runs or fewer.

The Padres leadoff batter reached in 7 of 8 innings. 

Padres starter Michael King pitches by inning: 9-18-9-8-9-31....done after 8 in 7th.  

Each team rocketed solo homers in the 1inning: Luis Arraez and Jeimer Candelario. 

Arraez homered (1) to lead off the game and extend his on base streak to 27 straight games. He had four hits. It ended the Padres 19 inning scoreless streak.
