Reds lose 3-1, drop series to Mets

Mets 3 Reds 1

Quick Cap: The Mets pushed across a run in each of the first three innings vs Andrew Abbott, and that was enough to beat the Reds and hand them their first series loss of the season. The Reds managed just three hits, all singles, none after 4th. A heartbreaking scene in the 6th as Tejay Antone left in pain following his first pitch of the 6th inning.

Andrew Abbott: 5 IN, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, HBP, HR, 95 pitches/58 strikes. Allowed a single run in 1st-2nd-3rd. Constant traffic. Mets 10 base runners in first three innings, only 2 runs; 6 H, E, HBP, 2 BB. Lindor entered 1 for 31, 0 EXBH. Had 2B, HR vs Abbott.

Offense: 3 H, 12 K

D: There are just so many outs this team fails to convert.
2B Santiago Espinal throwing error allowed 1st inning run.
3B Jeimer Candelario double-clutched on infield hit.

Luke Maile worked a 13 pitch AB before striking out.
CF Bubba Thompson made 1st start, singled.
Elly on twice: BB, HBP, SB

Killer: 1st three Reds reached in 4th. Then Espinal SF RBI. Maile BB. But Thompson inning ending DP.

Pete Alonso 0 for 14 in series.

SB: 4, Thompson/India double steal, 2 Elly

How they scored:

4th: Sac Fly Espinal, 3-1 Mets

Bullpen: Suter 3 IN. 0 R, Farmer 1 IN! 0 R.

Down on the Farm:  Nick Lodolo 2.2 IN, 4 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 2 K, 2 HBP, 64 pitches/44 strikes.
