I just can't read multiple pages of instructions for putting something together or operating it. Don't have patience. And how about the instructions that unfold into seven sections, front and back?

I guess I should probably be more excited about the eclipse than I am.

Hate to break this to some, but we don't know how to better construct a lineup than David Bell. Just accept that. I do. We don't know the matchup history, type of pitches thrown/struggled against, injuries, rest, analytics. Sorry.

I saw a video for a peanut butter & jelly air fryer sandwich. Thoughts?

Song that I cranked up the radio to while driving this week: 'Rio," Duran Duran. Such a classic 80's and MTV synth-pop, new wave, pop rock sound. Really cool album cover.

Wait, gas is $3.55 a gallon?

You know who has a really strong three man TV booth in MLB? Mets/SYN: Gary Cohen, Ron Darling. Keith Hernandez. Excellent PBP and analysis. They work well together. Insightful. Don't take themselves too seriously. Don't talk all the time. Don't fight for airtime. No hesitation to criticize. Enjoyable listen.

Big time thanks to all that suggested C.P. Reeves Market in Ludlow. Around since 1915. They have fried pies like my Granny made me in West Liberty! Made by the Amish and delivered every Friday. Really cool place!

Life is about making concessions. One I made this week was using readers during my show for the small print on Reds game notes.

I've known Kelly for 31 years, I just learned she's never seen Diner. What? That football quiz scene? The cast? How? Why?

Repeat after me: Elly is not moving to the OF this year. With McLain, Marte and Arroyo out, they have no viable everyday option for SS. Move on.

Season 2, Episode 6 of The Bear, "Fishes, might be the most unnerving TV episode I think I've ever seen. Holy. Moly. Loved the baseball card scene. Episode 7 "Forks" was throw a fist in the air good. Never watched a show with back-back episodes that damn good. Ever.

As a 24-year old rookie on one of the greatest teams of all-time, Pat Zachary was 14-7 2.74 in 38 appearances/28 starts, 204 innings, 8 HR allowed, 6 complete games for the 1976 Reds. And tied for NL Rookie of the Year. Damn. He was 71. R.I.P.

It wasn't on my grocery list, but Remke Fort Mitchell had wiffle ball and yellow bat sets....$6.99! By the way, that location might have the kindest staff and shoppers I've ever run into.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 250 miles from Cincinnati. The Indiana Pacers are 112 miles. I'll never understand the NBA territorial restrictions and why the Pacers don't get more play around here.

You know what is really frustrating? Knowing your grass needs mowed and watching it rain day after day.

One of my biggest challenges here is debating how many comments to respond to that simply isn't true. It bugs me when untrue statements lead to longer conversations. Opinions are varied. Facts are just not.

An author read on Random Thoughts that Peyton recently bought 'Rumors', the 1977 Fleetwood Mac album. This week, he interviewed her for a book he's writing about the album and the connection across the age spectrum. That's awesome!

I've never tried dip (tobacco) and I can't wrap my head around the idea of carrying a spit cup.

Kelly and I are clearly behind the music curve of Peyton, but we became fans of Noah Kahan when we recently heard 'Stick Season'. Peyton saw him in concert last June at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center.

I was a big fan of Beverly Hills 90210 back in the early 90's. Especially when Tiffani Amber Thiessen joined the show.

Odd memory: When I first saw Rockford Files in the TV Guide as a kid in 1974, I thought it was about V.P Nelson Rockefeller and President Gerald Ford.

Switch your default position to happy/positive from sad/negative and you will thank me.

Tough to beat a Friday lunch of tacos at La Torta Loca in Crescent Springs.

I just can't buy a baseball hat on-line. I need to see it and feel it on my head.

Bob Trumpy use to follow up a lot of caller statement on Sports Talk by saying "in your opinion.' More and more, I get that.

To make each loss of a 162 game season a referendum on David Bell's status as manager is just......dumb. It really is.

Don't worry about things you don't care about.
