Things that popped into my head this week.....

We are in awe of the new documentary "The Greatest Night In Pop" (Netflix). 40+ music icons. One night. One studio. One song, “We Are The World.” Incredible behind the scenes reveal of interactions of personalities and egos. How the group came together. How the song was written and then arranged to different voices. Who didn’t show up. Who left. Absolutely incredible stuff.

As of today, most NCAA bracket projections don't include UC, Xavier, NKU, Ohio State, Indiana, Louisville, Butler. Man.

Elly De La Cruz turned 22 years old last month. He's played 98 major league games. Keep that in mind.

Three Casey/Peyton childhood books I can still recite lines from: Pajama Time, Goodnight Moon, The Places You’ll Go (a gift from Paul Daugherty).

Song I found and liked this week: "Can't Break Up Now....Old Dominion, Megan Moroney

I generally enjoy Tony Romo's enthusiasm. But I find the more he talks, the less I enjoy him.

I was at the eye doctor considering new glasses. I was trying on frames and texting photos to my wife and daughter. Kelly liked a pair I'd settled on. Peyton rejected them. What's the tiebreaker?

If you close your eyes, you can hear some Mick Cronin in Wes Miller. I get that defense and rebounding are big. But you know what you ultimately have to be able to do in basketball? Shoot the ball. Score points.

You know what I still don't trust, after all these years? The backup camera in my car.

I was shopping at the Independence Kroger today and heard Aerosmith's 'Dream On' playing. I think we need all request shopping! Grab your cart. Place a request at the front desk. Have DJ Jazzy Frozen Foods spins hits!

Today's news of the SEC and Big 10 forming an advisory committee once again gives me the vision of the eventual 32 team CFB league. It will be tailored like the NFL with eight four team divisions, two conferences and a Super Bowl type postseason format.

UC's athletic department is in a position they had to move a home game vs Nebraska to Indianapolis and play a road game at a non-Power 5 Miami Redhawks?

You know what is fantastic for an occasional breakfast treat? A honey bun!

34-years ago this week, The National debuted. A daily sports-centered newspaper printed in tabloid form out of New York City. Sadly, unable to overcome distribution and deadline issues, it would then cease operations June 13, 1991. I think I bought a copy every single day.

I don't believe in communal tables at restaurants. If I wanted to sit with others, I would have gone out with others.

Ultimately, listeners/viewers decide who matters. I don't understand why guys like Stephen A. Smith, Chris Russo and Skip Bayless matter.

UC can't shoot threes....can't shoot twos.....can't shoot free throws. When is the last time a UC team could?

Jodie Foster is really, really good in True Detectives.

Given the choice of coaching in the NFL, why would anyone want to coach in college these days?

Can we just go ahead and drop Roman numerals for the Super Bowl?

I'm a planner. I bought Valentine's Day cards on Tuesday, before February even hit!

Another underrated breakfast treat: Apple Toaster Strudel with that drizzle of icing.

Let's say a network shows five cutaway shots of Taylor Swift during an NFL game...averaging :06 a shot. That's 30-seconds out of a three hour broadcast. I just don't see what the big deal is.

Big fan of the Sean Miller Podcast. Adam Baum and Paul Fritschner do a nice job with it. Sean is comfortable and shows other sides of himself.

I keep saying this, but I do think I'm going to start posting these more randomly, not necessarily every week.

Don't worry about things you don't care about
