Things that popped into my head this week.....

Love the Brent Suter signing. Veteran. Lefty. Effective. Great clubhouse guy. Another smart and cost effective one year deal by Nick Krall.

Regardless of results, UC vs Texas Tuesday night felt like big time college basketball. The atmosphere was off the charts. Welcome to the Big 12. Buckle up.

We loved the new Netflix documentary: Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only. It's a behind the scenes look at their friendship, careers and the four shows they co-headlined in New York City last year.

Song I really enjoyed this week: 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins. What a song. What a video. What a vibe.

It would appear the Reds have one roster opening for position players, assuming these are locks: Stephenson, Maile, CES, Candelario, McLain, India, De La Cruz, Marte, Steer, Friedl, Benson, Fraley. They don't have a true backup CF for Friedl. I wonder if that means Fairchild or an outsider? I can't see it being Blake Dunn or Jacob Hurtubise and using a rookie as a bench guy.

Wait, Riverbend is hosting Totally Tubular on July 27th? They are bringing in Thomas Dolby, Thompson Twins, Modern English, Men Without Hats, The Romantics, Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone and others!? We are in! Got two tix this morning. I need some parachute pants!

We are headed to Listermann Brewing tomorrow to try their new kitchen. Big fan of their Nutcase Porter, Maple Chickow and Godspeed Little Doodle

My favorite weekly read is 'Charlie's Chalkboard', a Cincinnati Enquirer newsletter offering insight and observations about the Reds and Bengals from Charlie Goldsmith of the Enquirer. It's really smart stuff. It comes as part of an online subscription to the paper.

Harlan Coben is a fantastic author. But I find his TV shows complicated and challenging to follow. A lot of balls in the air plot wise.

Update: A handful of marshmallows before bed to help you sleep through the night didn't work.

I can't imagine there is a more unprepared former athlete on TV than Steve Smith on NFL Network.

It's safe to say the relationship between Jonathan India and the Reds won't improve with an upcoming arbitration hearing.

Shout out Abbie Denen and the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL. About a year ago I mentioned how cool their nickname and logo was. They sent me a shirt this week!

Monday is National Hat Day. I'm a big baseball cap guy. I have a three level rotation for my caps. Level 1: daily wear.....Level 2: running cap....Level 3: mowing cap. I also must color coordinate cap to wardrobe.

Next year, the Bengals OL will not be as good as it was this year. Let that sink in.

So, it's going to potentially drop to -30 windchill Saturday night for Dolphins at Chiefs? I'll see your -30 and raise you a -59 for the Freezer Bowl. I believe that day forever shook my core temperature and ability to deal with the cold.

On the advice of UC Chris, we checked Riverfront Pizza off our list of places to get to. Located in Covington and opened in 1981. Excellent pizza with a crunchy crust and massive toppings....and hoagies with fabulous garlic buttered buns.

Aaron Rodgers. Narcissist.

Man, I go back and forth with my reason for tagging and keeping Tee Higgins and my reasons for tagging and trading Tee Higgins.

All transgressions aside, you know who can simply flat out coach? Rick Pitino.

Thank you for reading these. Thank you for supporting my show.
