Things that popped into my head this week.....

Did Jake Browning deliver the most improbable performance of any athlete in Cincinnati sports history?

Ever wonder what percentage of the population doesn't have something signed by Pete Rose?

If UC is ever going to win at Cintas Center it would be this season.

I've never tried Spam.

Starting last February 25 and into the late stages of last Saturday night, FC Cincinnati offered 280 days of incredible, unforgettable, dominating, historical, prideful and galvanizing moments. 280 days. Man. What a cruel final 45 minutes.

I marvel at the mental gymnastics of some to complain the Reds don't spend money, then complain when they do spend money

It's still wild to think that in 1984 the Baltimore Colts packed up Mayflower moving vans and moved to Indianapolis in the middle of the night.

Macaulay Culkin got a star on the Walk of Fame last week. I had no idea he was in a relationship with London from The Suite Life with Zack & Cody.

The Steelers complaining about officiating and the treatment of TJ Watt is certainly rich. No team over the course of NFL history has gotten away with more than the Steelers.

Do you remember Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour and the servers?

The Reds have a number of starting pitchers that could/should/probably will/better get better. I still need an established SP they can count on.

I say it every year: I really want to see Army vs Navy football in person.

Redsfest will return when Duke Energy Convention Center renovation is complete. That's going to be a while.

Best player intro's all-time: Chicago Bulls of the 90's with SIRIUS - The Alan Parsons Project ....."Annnnnnnnd now!" Chills.

The Nuxhall Miracle League team is headed to Pittsburgh next summer to play Sean Casey's team. It's the same weekend the Reds play the Pirates. We are going! What a trip. And I will finally get to see PNC Park.

I really like that wiggle/waggle/burst from Chase Brown on MNF.

It's not a matter of what UC football has lost in the portal, it's more what they have cleared out. Many guys that did not want to buy in. It speaks volumes their All-American defensive player, 1,000 rusher, the entire OL and stud punter are sticking around to lead.

A career that people don't appreciate enough: Reggie Sanders. Look it up. We had a good discussion about this when I joined Jeff Carr and Steven Offenbaker on the Locked on Reds podcast.

Tweaks I'd make to Redsfest: Autographs for kids. Photos for adults. I'd put together clinic stations with current players hosting 15-20 minute sessions for kids on hitting, fielding, pitching. I'd also add a Sabermetric presentation and Q/A session for fans interested in understanding more about analytics and how the Reds incorporate them.

I miss IU vs PU, Bob Knight vs Gene Keady.

Life is short. Life is hard. Why not just make optimism your default position?

Obscure TV show to go back and watch: Lights Out.....2011 on FX. Holt McCallany plays boxer Patrick "Lights" Leary.

If Jake Browning can be something between his Steelers performance and Jacksonville performance, I think the Bengals have a shot the rest of the way.

I heard the jingle from The Banana Splits TV show this week. Now I can't stop hearing it in my head: "One banana.....two banana....three banana....four........."

Don't worry about things you don't care about
