Things that popped into my head this week.....

I reached my 23rd anniversary with iHeart/Clear Channel this week. In total, I've been on the radio in my hometown for 26 years. All of this after I was handed a severance package and told to hand in my key card when my Chicago station was sold and flipped formats. Dang. How lucky am I?

I don't think fans appreciate just how hard this is for the Reds. They are fighting to stay in a playoff chose with multiple rookies who are key players, not backups and bench guys: Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, Spencer Steer, Will Benson, CES, Andrew Abbott, Brandon Williamson.

Anyone else have a drawer full of Koozies? They are always free at events. I always grab one. I never use one.

Few things were more anxiety inducing than pulling up to the drive-thru speaker and trying to relay the shouts of orders from your family.

I had a Father/Daughter Night last Saturday! Peyton and I got Chipotle and we watched movies. Great night! She's headed to the Netherlands next week for the semester. Man, I'm not ready for that.

I enjoyed watching UC football practice this morning at Camp Higher Ground. Loved the 80's music blaring on the speakers, including Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight"

I don't get following a team for 120+ games and then when they fall 2.5 games out of 1st place with 1117 games to go, saying "they are done" or "time for Bengals"...."it was fun while it lasted." What does that even mean? You dealt with 100 losses last year! And you can't follow two sports at once?

I think Jonah Williams is going to have a big year at right tackle.

Tennis at the Western & Southern Open has always been our favorite event to attend each year. It's our Date Night. Tennis, music, food, shopping, people watching and a feel that you are at major event in another part of the world. First class. Bummed we won't be attending this year.

Such sad news about the passing of former Enquirer sports writer/Reds writer John Fay. John was kind. He cared. He was a pro. I admired how he went about his job and his life. He was kind to me. Always had time for the show. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Big fan of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays Mickey in The Lincoln Lawyer.

Anyone else have the Farrah Fawcett poster on their wall growing up?

We attended The WestSide Market last weekend for the 2nd time. It's a small business pop-up market that takes place at Westwood Town Hall. Over 100 local vendors, food trucks and offers family fun activities. Great time. Next date is September 2nd.

Why doesn't Starbucks list all their coffee options on the drive thru menu?

We are headed to the VOA Country Music Fest in West Chester on Sunday. I'm full blown country!

I bought a cup of lemonade at a neighborhood stand this week. I gave the kid $5 and told him to keep the change. The way his eyes lit up was awesome. Every kid should run a lemonade stand.

Ever stop and consider how strong the cast was from NYPD Blue? We've decided to go back and watch it again from the start.

I think Bengals special teams will be much improved this year. They need to be.

I kept an eye on UC's Evan Prater at camp this morning as he makes the conversation from QB to WR. Saw him get chucked on his backside on one snap. Watched him making a leaping, over-the-middle grab. But what jumped out was a corner end zone TD grab that brought all his teammates to him in celebration.

Why throw a home balls back onto the field? What purpose is served? It's a memory. Give it to a kid. Make his day.

You know what TV shows I miss? Battle of the Network Stars and The Superstars.

I loved watching 61-year old Kerry Coombs running around UC football camp, coaching guys up and dropping to do push ups during drills.

Don't worry about things you don't care about.
