The game was suspended after a 1 hour, 55 minute rain delay in the 8th inning. The game will be resumed Tuesday at 5:40pm with the regularly scheduled game starting at 7:10.
Tarp time: The skies opened in the top of the 8th at 2-2. The Giants had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out.
Trouble: LHP Alex Young came on to face LHB Joc Pederson with the score 2-2 and 0 outs in the 8th. He walked Pederson (.143 vs LH this year/.209 career). Then, Wilmer Flores doubled to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Young got a ground out to Votto for the 1st out. The rain came.

McBang! McLain, moved down to the No. 3 spot after making all 52 starts at No.2, went the opposite way for a 1st inning homer.
Quality start: Brandon Williamson: 6 IN, 4 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 HR, 98 pitches/61 strikes. Austin Slater cruuuuushed a 442-foot HR off the Power Stacks PNC sign to make it 1-1 in the 3rd. Wilmer Flores made it 2-1 on a solo homer in the 6th. He has a 2.57 ERA over his last three starts/14 innings (including rain shortened 3.0 IN vs Nationals).
Rain Man: Williamson has pitched in rain delay games vs Baltimore, Washington and now San Francisco.
New leading man: Elly De La Cruz was moved into the leadoff spot for the first time this season.
Rocket launcher: De La Cruz fielded a bouncer off the 3B base bag that took him into foul territory and fired a missile to 1B for the out. Earlier, he went to his backhand and unleashed a rocket to 1B.
Oh-fers: Stephenson 0 for 2 and now 0 for last 21, a career long. De La Cruz 0 for 3, 2K and 0 for last 15.
Can't cash in: India doubled to start the 5th and went nowhere.....Joey Votto K, Encarnacion Strand GO, Stephenson GO.
Let's be honest: If you are a home plate umpire being tricked by the framing of the pitch by the catcher, you are a poor home plate umpire.
