Reds 8 Rockies 6
Insert default line: It wasn't easy. It never is.
But for the first time since 2012, the Reds have won 10 straight games, beating the Rockies 8-6 Tuesday night in front of 28,291 fans at GABP.
The Reds trailed 1-0 two batters into the game when Rockies RF Nolan Jones homered off Ben Lively. But then the Reds went to work, belting three homers of their own, one each by TJ Friedl, Elly De La Cruz and Will Benson.
The Reds led 8-2 until a Jorge Alfaro three-run homer vs Casey Legumina in the 8th. That forced Alexis Diaz into the game in the 9th. He allowed a run and loaded the bases but got a strikeout to end it.
It was one of those nights at GABP. Each team homered three times.
It's a fifth consecutive series secured and a 25th comeback win of the season, equaling their 2022 season total.
The Reds move to 39-35 on the season. They were 26-48 through 74 games a year ago.
The Brewers also won, so the Reds stay 0.5 games up in the NL Central. The Pirates drop four back after their 8th straight loss.
The Reds are four games games over .500 for the first time since finishing 2021 season 83-79.
They haven’t won more than 10 straight games since a 12-game win streak in 1957.
