Reds 7 Cubs 6

That's three straight wins. They are two games above .500 for the first time since October 3, 2021.

3-1 this year....went 3-18 last April and started 3-22.

Down-tied-ahead-behind-win: The Reds trailed 3-0 before they batted... tied it 3-3 in their first at-bat....took a 4-3 lead in the 2nd inning....fell behind 6-4 in the 5th inning...took a 7-6 lead in bottom of 5th inning.

The difference: Jason Vosler, who entered the game due to injury, jaked a three-run opposite field homer to give the Reds a 7-6 lead in the 5th inning. He has two homers, a double and a triple in his four games.

Bullpen: Six relievers covered 15 outs. Ian Gibaut 0.2, HBP, R. Tied 4-4 in the 5th, LH Alex Young came on with 2 outs and bases loaded to face LH Eric Hosmer, who delivered a two-run single to give Cubs 6-4 lead. Fernando Cruz 1.1, 0 R.Reiver Sanmartin 0.2, 0 R, Buck Farmer 1.0, 0 R, Derek Law with his first save since 2015. Alexis Diaz, having pitched in back-to-back games, was unavailable.

Big moment: Leading 7-6 in the 7th inning, Luke Maile was called for catcher's interference on a ground out with a runner on and no outs. That put two on with no outs. But Cruz got the next out and Reiver Sanmartin closed out the inning.

1st inning trouble: Bellinger 3-run HR….1st hit as a Cub....had been 0 for 11 start to year. Connor Overton 5 H, 3 R, 26 pitch 1st inning.

Answer back: Trailing 3-0, the first five Reds reached vs Drew Smyly in the bottom of the 1st inning. Spencer Steer slapped a single the other way and Jonathan India (BB) racing 1st to 3rd. Wil Myers RBI single, Kevin Newman 2-run single.

On the board/off the board: Jose Barrero singled on a breaking ball to snap an 0 for 7 start to the season. He tweaked his right hamstring and left the game. That led to the musical chairs of Friedl moving from RF to CF to replace Barrero, Wil Myers moving 1B to RF and Jason Vosler entering the game at 1B.

Bunt! TJ Friedl bunted for a hit that was throw away by Smyly. His second bunt hit of the season. But he ran into an out on the bases when he attempted to go to 3rd on a bouncer hit in front of him while at 2nd base. Later, he tripled.

Walkin' and hittin': Spencer Steer reached base three more times, 1B, 2B, BB. He's walked four times in four games.

Overton: 4.0, 8 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 80 pitches/56 strikes. Spring training: 11.2 innings, 26 hits, 20 earned runs, 6 homers .441 BA.....15.43 ERA

Welcome back: The Reds recognized Cubs catcher Tucker Barnhart with a scoreboard tribute and ovation from the GABP crowd before the top of the 1st inning. He was 1 for 3.

Debut: Maile, the Covington Catholic product, made his Reds debut.

That guy: Ian Happ 1 for 3, 2B, BB, R

Vegas: The run total for the game was 14.5.

Time of game: 2:35
