21st edition of My Random Thoughts: Sports, TV, music, food, life.......

Things that popped into my head this week.

Wes Miller is fortunate the city is currently consumed with talking #Bengals and disliking #Reds ownership.

It's not the Black Sox scandal of 1919, but the NFL has a problem. More and more fans believe the league is not operating on the up and up. Games are not rigged, but it doesn't matter. A growing number of fans think they are.

I love a good sports debate. One of my biggest challenges and frustrations is when people don't want to accept the factual part of the debate.

We really enjoyed Blackberry Smoke last week. Love their Southern Rock sound. The Lawrenceburg Events Center is a really nice venue.

I'll never understand the concept of hazing, why anyone would think it's a way of proving/bonding, and why anyone in a leadership position would be cool with it.

The TV show Bosch is back! It's on something called Freevee. He's now a private investigator and his daughter is a cop. No J. Edgar, but there appears to be a spinoff in the works involving him.

I flipped around Super Bowl postgame shows and saw Chris Berman hosting ESPN coverage. I flipped to Everybody Loves Raymond.

You could do a lot worse than a top of the rotation that includes Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo and Graham Ashcraft.

We are TV news junkies. Channel 9 reporter Valerie Lyons is outstanding. Really, really impressive on live shots. Prediction: Won't be here long.

As I get older I like getting up earlier. I guess at some point down the line I just won't go to bed.

I clearly jinxed Xavier after touting their record of 7-1 in their last 8 games decided by three points or les......0-2 since.

We have started watching The Last of Us. Two episodes in, I've squirmed, jumped and made noises three times.

I think I've become a germaphobe. I never touch a door handle in public with my bare hand and I wipe down the studio controls each day. But......I have not been sick, had a cold, or even the sniffles, since I had COVID the week of the Bengals-Raiders playoff game 13 months ago. Knock on wood.

Two things I don't get about people giving out gambling picks: 1. If they were good at it why would they give away their info? 2. If they charged for their picks, why would anyone actually pay to be told which team to bet on? If you need to be told who to bet on you probably should not be betting.

I wonder if people remember that Mick Cronin led UC to the tournament each of his final nine seasons in Clifton?

I like the Miley Cyrus song 'Flowers'......yeah....I said it.

Wes Miller is going nowhere. So, settle down. However, if you firmly believed he was the guy when they hired him, what exactly has he done to back your feeling?

I have no idea what the future holds for Bally Sports Ohio and Reds. Really don't care. I do know all 162 games are on 700 WLW.

I bought Valentine's Day cards for Kelly and Peyton three weeks in advance. I saw 'em. I bought 'em. Anyone else do that?

Congrats to Beechwood football coach Noel Rash on a hell of a career. In 17 years he won 200 games and 8 state titles, including the last three in a row in Class 2A. Coach always made himself available to the show and I enjoyed our talks. I wish him the best in what's ahead.

Don't worry about things you don't care about: This week's example......the size of ML bases.
