Pirates 3 Reds 1

Who? Some guy named Zach Thompson, who entered with a 7.08 ERA, no-hit the Reds 2 outs into the 6th inning. 6 IN, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 76 pitches.
This is the same Thompson that had tossed five shutout innings vs the Reds last Sunday. Season: 11.0 IN/0 R vs Reds.....16 R in 15.1 vs everyone else.

Break-up: Brandon Drury's 2-out single broke up the no-hitter.

Scary: Tyler Stephenson left the game (concussion protocol) after taking a foul ball off his catcher's mask. He was on the concussion list earlier this season.

O MIA: The Reds managed four hits on the night. The Reds did steal two more bases, Tommy Pham and Matt Reynolds. That's 14 on the season and has then on pace for 67. They had just 36 last season.

Lone wolf: Albert Almora Jr's 7th inning single produced the Reds only run.

Act II: Luis Castillo 5 IN, 4 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 2 K, HR, 90 pitches in his second start since coming off the IL.

Down on the Farm: Joey Votto went 1 for 1 with 2 walks at AAA Louisville.

Pen: Jeff Hoffman with another scoreless inning to lower his ERA to 1.83. Russ Detwiler made his Reds debut and struck out two in a scoreless inning. Hunter Strickland 1.0, K.
