Reds reach worst start in franchise history with yet another loss

Rockies 10 Reds 1

Another loss. That's 17 in their last 18 games and a new franchise record worst start of 3-19. Four fewer wins than any other team in MLB.

They must now win 40 of final 140 to avoid the ML record for most losses in a season (1962 NY Mets: 120).

Reiver Sanmartin did not survive the 1st inning: 6 R, 6 H, 2 BB, WP and HR in throwing 43 pitches to record two outs. His ERA is 13.22.

Relief: Buck Farmer took over and got the final out of the 1st inning, but not before hitting a batter to force in the runner inherited from Sanmartin.
The Rockies reached Farmer for three runs in the 2nd inning: 1.2 IN, 3 R, 2 ER.

Bullpen: Strickland-Cessa-Diaz-Santillan combined for 5 shutout innings. Art Warren was sent back out after Saturday's debacle and served up a HR.

Offense: 4 hits, 2 walks. The Reds hit into seven double plays in the three game series.

Brandon Drury's team leading 4th home run to get the runs on the board at 9-1 in the 5th inning. He added a double.

Matt Reynolds continues to get on base. He doubled and his 3 for 4 with a BB since being claimed on waivers.

Joey Votto: 0 for 4, 2 K.....hitting .123 with 29 K in 73 AB.

Side note.....
