Nick Lodolo struggled in his major league debut and the Cleveland Guardians hit homers in three consecutive innings and four on the day vs to beat the Reds 7-3 and complete a two-game sweep of the Reds (2-4).

Lodolo: 4 IN, 7 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 2 HBP. He threw 79 pitches/49 strikes. He struck out two batters in an uneventful first inning, but things went downhill from there. He went HBP-K-BB-BB-BB-HBP in the 2nd inning. CF Jake Fraley save him two runs with a diving catch with the bases loaded to end the inning. He allowed HR ini the 3rd and another in the 4th. Keep in mind, Lodolo had a total of 6.2 career innings above Double-A entering today.

Power sources: Fraley clubbed a solo homer (415 feet) in the 5th to get the Reds on the board and Tyler Stephenson jaked a 2-run shot in the 8th.

How about Stephenson? He threw out three base stealers on Tuesday and added two hits, including a HR today.

Tommy Pham (hand) and Nick Senzel (day off) were out of the starting lineup.

Swiper: Tyler Naquin had two more hits and stole a base, his first SB of the season. That's the third in six games for the Reds.

Bullpen: Buck Farmer 2.0, 1 R, HR.....Alexis Diaz 1.1, 0 R.......Dauri Moreta 1.2, 1 R, HR.

Oh, Aquino: He was 0-4 with 4 K today and stands 1-13 with 9 K on the season. August of 2019 seems so long ago....because it is.

Opportunity: Brandon Drury got his 2nd start of the season (3B) and collected a double. He had a chance to pick up an RBI, but Kyle Farmer was cut down on a perfectly executed 2-out relay to the plate.

Holy, Jose: Guardians 3B Jose Ramirez mashed from start to finish in the series. Tuesday: 3 H, 3B, Grand Slam, 6 RBI. Wednesday: 2B, HR, 3 RBI.

Straw Man: Guardians CF Myles Straw reached base five times for Cleveland, 4 H, BB.

Miller Time: Guardians 2B Owen Miller hit two home runs. He hit four in 2021.

Attendance: 10,976. Per Charlie Goldsmith, Enquirer: In 2018, Reds also only had four games with worse attendance. In 2017 and 2016, the Reds had one game each year with worse attendance than today's.

Next: Reds head to the West Coast.....4 in LA, 3 in SD.
