GOODYEAR, AZ - Cincinnati Reds Vice President, General Manager Nick Krall today announced the acquisitions of LHP Mike Minor and cash from the Kansas City Royals for LHP Amir Garrett.

Minor, 34, is 79-78 with a 4.11 ERA in 276 Major League appearances, including 209 starts, over 10 seasons with the Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers and Royals.

In 2019, when in 32 starts he went 14-10 with a 3.59 ERA covering 208.1 innings, Minor was an American League All-Star and the Rangers' Pitcher of the Year in voting of their local chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Last season, Minor led the Royals in starts (28), strikeouts (149) and innings pitched (158.2), and his 9 quality starts ranked second on the Royals' staff behind Brady Singer's 10. Among American American League pitchers with as few as 158.2 innings pitched, his 41 walks were fifth-fewest.

Garrett, 29, was selected by the Reds in the 22nd round of the June 2011 first-year player draft. In 235 career appearances for Cincinnati, he went 10-17 with a 5.10 ERA and 7 saves. In 2020, Garrett received the Joe Nuxhall Good Guy Award in voting of the local chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
