From MLB
Cincinnati Reds reliever Amir Garrett has received a seven-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for inciting a benches-clearing incident during the top of the eighth inning of Saturday afternoon’s home game against the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park. Michael Hill, Major League Baseball’s Senior Vice President for On-Field Operations, made the announcement.
The suspension of Garrett had been scheduled to begin tonight, when the Reds begin their home series against the Chicago White Sox. However, Garrett has elected to appeal. Thus, the discipline will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
In addition, Cubs infielder Javier Báez has received an undisclosed fine for his role in the on-field incident.
My reaction
Just when you think MLB can't lose anymore credibility....................
Then again, you have to have something in order to lose it.
