CVG Airport and Allegiant celebrate 10 years of service

Erlanger, Ky. (February 15, 2024) – The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Allegiant celebrate 10 years of service this week. During its first 10 years, Allegiant has flown more than 57,000 flights to and from CVG and has served nearly eight million passengers.

Allegiant, one of the first low-cost carriers at CVG, started with four flights a week to two destinations. A decade later, the airline has grown to offer 21 nonstop destinations from CVG, year-round and seasonal, with more than 90 flights per week during peak seasons.

 Flights offered from CVG:

A significant number of Allegiant employees reside locally. They serve in a variety of roles including flight attendants, pilots, and members of the maintenance crew base. The airline first launched service at CVG in February 2014 and opened base operations in 2015.

“When we launched our first route at CVG in 2014, we had high expectations,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief revenue officer. “But the success we’ve had at the airport and within the community has far surpassed what we initially imagined. The way the community has embraced us has been truly remarkable and we’re thrilled to continue providing residents with low-cost, nonstop leisure travel options.”

“We’re pleased to celebrate this important milestone with Allegiant, who has been a strong partner at CVG since 2014,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “We’re grateful for the partnership and the low-cost service to more than 20 popular destinations across the country.”
