A Connecticut man was taken into custody for allegedly impersonating a police officer so he could get to work faster. The Connecticut State Police said that a trooper saw a black Dodge Challenger with red and blue lights speeding through traffic on Interstate 95 South during rush hour on Tuesday (October 24) morning.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop and ran a check on the car's license plate, which showed it was not registered to a law enforcement agency. The driver, 43-year-old Michael Marshall, said that he installed the lights so he could speed through traffic and get to work faster. He admitted that he was not a law enforcement officer and did not have a valid reason for using the emergency lights attached to the front of his vehicle.

The trooper arrested Marshall and had his Challenger towed away.

Marshall was booked on one count of impersonating a police officer and was released on a $5,000 surety bond.
