A statement from Hamilton Countys park department says Holiday in Lights doesn;t fit in their master plan to focus on nature based experiences. That is why they will no longer serve as the host for the Holiday in Lights drive through show at Sharon Woods. The experience has been a 30 year tradition in the Tristate and the organizers are asking people to pressure the park board to reconsider their decision. A petition has been launched at Change dot org which has received over 2 thousand signatures, many from people who say they can't imagine the holidays without it.
The parks department is offering a new winter celebration this year called Holidays on the Farm at Parkys Farm in Winton Woods. It will include self led exploration of lighted nature trails, hayrides and meet and greet with park animals
