New Covid Testing Opening at UC

The University of Cincinnati is opening a new drive-thru testing center for COVID with the help of the Ohio National Guard. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 513-41VIRUS or online at My UC Health. The hours of operation are 11 to 3 today and tomorrow and after that from 7:30 to 3 during the week and 10 to 4 on weekends.

There is no out of pocket expense to get a test but you are asked to bring a valid insurance card.

The community testing center is located in the former U-C Health MRI Center on Albert Sabin Way. Patients will register there and then will be directed to a nearby parking garage to receive a nasal swab. The PCR tests will then be processed by the UC Health Precision Medicine Lab with results available in 48 to 72 hours. UC Health Medical Director Dr Dustin Calhoun says they are proud to partner with the Ohio National Guard to meet the urgent need for testing. Calhoun adds that while expanded access to COVID-19 testing is one day to address the present surge , obtaining vaccination against COVID is the best way to bring this pandemic to an end.
