New Float-tel Could be Coming to Cincinnati's Riverfront

The public landing could be home to a new riverfront restaurant and Float-tel if Queen City Riverboats wins the contract to build a new marina on the Ohio river at Sawyer Point. They have provided the park board with a new option for the development that includes a former riverboat they have an option to buy which would be permanently moored on the river opposite the national steamboat monument.

The first floor would be a restaurant and bar along with marina offices. The second and third floors a boutique hotel and the open top floor---a rent-able space for events.

Brendon Sullivan with Queen City Riverboats says they have already been in discussions with the Reds about using the open patio for events on Friday nights during the season when the team has their fireworks displays on the river. Sullivan says the new complex would be called Redlegs Landing.

The Cincinnati Park Board has not set a vote on the proposal yet, there is one other bidder on the project.
