LeBron James and Maverick Carter have scored major support for their growing creative imprint, SpringHill Company. This week, Epic Games joined RedBird Capital Partners, Fenway Sports Group and Nike as investors in the company. The SpringHill Company says the investment will “enable [us] to significantly expand [our] current businesses of IP development, commerce, content, brand consulting and live events." Shortly after Epic Games joined the investor group, James and Carter revealed that the company is now valued at $725 million.
“Bringing this incredible consortium of companies and investors together for this deal will supercharge SpringHill’s development and growth. We are as proud of being part of this journey with them as anything else we’ve done in our 25-year history of working with extremely talented entrepreneurs, athletes and entertainers,” SpringHill Entertainment advisor Paul Wachter told Variety.
Founded in 2020, James and Carter's growing brand is still in its infant stages. With that said, the duo has already accomplished a lot. SpringHill is the force behind HBO's The Shop and Space Jam: A New Legacy from Warner Bros. Along the way, they have picked up partnerships with a number of companies and released Uninterrupted apparel. To top it all off, they have been honored at the Emmys, Cannes Lion and Webby Awards. As the company moves forward, the sky is the limit.
“SpringHill’s mission is empowering greatness in every individual,” Carter told Variety.
“We started this company with the tagline ‘More Than an Athlete’ which still defines everything we do to this very day. We are an incredible team of athletes, artists, writers, designers, musicians and countless other creators. With this new group of investors who are the very best in their respective industries we are going to be able to empower our community and every creator to do their most inspiring work and achieve their most ambitious dreams.”
