It’s time to raise a glass.

In honor of National Drink Beer Day (September 28), many Ohioans might crack open a cold one of one of the most popular beer brands in the U.S.

Earlier this year, Zippia tracked down the most popular beer in each state (though the career research hub noted that the results “are pretty basic”). The team analyzed a list of more than 70 of the most popular beers, and turned to Google search data to whittle the list down: “Slowly (and quite painfully) we narrowed it down to the top 10.” Google Trend’s data led Zippia to the beer of choice in each state. So, which one is the most popular beer in Ohio? Budweiser.

And Ohioans aren’t alone.

In fact, more than half the country — 27 states — opted for Budweiser, according to Zippia’s findings. Other states on that list include Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Tennessee and others. Most Budweiser fans seem to be clustered in Midwest and Southern states, aside from the Budweiser fans in Maine and New Hampshire. The next runner-up was Corona, which is the most popular beer in 19 states, Zippia finds:

“The results? It’s probably a Budweiser or Corona, maybe a Coors or Bud Light. Sorry, craft beer lovers- big beer is still king!”
