( Covington, Kentucky ) - Police say a suspect is in custody after a woman was found fatally shot early Friday morning.
Officers were called to White Ct in the City Heights neighborhood around 2am on Friday on reports of shots fired and a woman laying on the ground. There, they found 26-year-old Ashley Kilgore with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators say they quickly found a suspect, and a subsequent search allegedly turned up stolen guns at a home in the area. 28-Year-Old Edwin Brooks-Kellis (pictured) is charged with murder and receing stolen property.
A statement from police calls it an active investigation and additional search warrants are pending.
