Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Resigning

It was announced during Monday's night board of education meeting by Cincinnati Public Schools superintendent Laura Mitchell that she would resign from her position effective June 11 with the board accepting the resignation.

Mitchell, 52, has been a part of C.P.S. for the last 27 years, serving the last four as superintendent.

Mitchell is originally from Bond Hill, graduating from Cincinnati Public School's School for Creative and Performing Arts, later receiving her bachelor's degree from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, then returned home, earning her masters in education from the University of Cincinnati and received her superintendent certification from Xavier University.
