( Highland County, Ohio ) - Dealing with a double tragedy at Rocky Fork State Park.
A 16-year-old girl is dead after falling through a frozen lake at the state park in Hillsboro Tuesday night. She was reportedly with another teen who fell into the water as well but managed to get out. Police say it happened near the North Shore Boat docks.
During the rescue effort, one of the first responders suffered an as-yet unspecified medical emergency at the scene and died.
Officer Jason Lagore (pictured) was a canine officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. He was 38-years-old and leaves behind a wife and two young children.
A memorial fund is being set up for his family.
