( Cincinnati ) - Former Cincinnati City Councilwoman Tamaya Dennard will be spending time in prison for admitting to a federal crime... eventually.
The 41-year-old was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in prison and three years probation. She was arrested in February after federal prosecutors charged her with multiple counts for taking $15,000 in exchange for her vote on council.
She pleaded guilty in June to one count of honest services wire fraud as part of a plea deal.
Dennard will report to prison in March, 2021.
The accusations and charges levied against Dennard are separate, but similar, to those made against current Cincinnati City Councilmen Jeff Pastor and PG Sittenfeld. Both men were charged and arrested earlier this month.
