2020 Flying Pig Marathon Cancelled

( Cincinnati, OH ) -- There will be no Flying Pig Marathon in 2020. The Board of Directors and staff of Pig Works, the umbrella organization of the Flying Pig Marathon, Queen Bee and TQL Beer Series have decided to cancel the remaining in-person events this year - which includes the Flying Pig

“We have evaluated the health and safety protocols for running events, surveyed participants, and discussed options with our medical staff, government leaders and other respected events in our industry,” said Iris Simpson Bush, CEO of Pig Works, “We came to the conclusion that, even with the implementation of best practices, altered starts, support stations and finish venues, we could not offer the safe and fun experience that our athletes, volunteers, sponsors and spectators so deserve.

“We are as disappointed as our participants to have to make this decision. We were holding onto hope and optimism for as long as possible, but in fairness to those training for the fall events, we feel this is the safe and responsible decision.”

Registrants of each of the fall events will receive an email by July 10th detailing their options for participation, including participating in a fun and engaging virtual experience, and deferring to a future year or donating the registration fee.

All Pig Works events are on schedule for 2021, including the Flying Pig Marathon April 30th - May 2nd.
