( Cincinnati ) - The above tweet from Cincinnati City Councilman Jeff Pastor who, along with fellow council members PG Sittenfeld and Greg Landsman, met with protesters Wednesday demonstrating against the death of George Floyd.
Several groups have generated lists of policy proposals and demands they'd like to see implemented. Those changes include strengthening Cincinnati's Collaborative Agreeement, fully funding the Citizen Complaint Authority, and bail reform. Many of those changes are also included in a series of policy changes outlined by PG Sittenfeld.
Sittenfeld says he's already received majority support on council for his ideas.
Mayor John Cranley released an open letter to the leaders of groups like the Ohio Justice and Policy Center and Black United Front saying he's seen their recommendations and he's looking forward to meeting with leadership to discuss next steps.
The official announcement of those specific proposals from OJPC and Black United Front is scheduled to happen outside Cincinnati City Hall at 5:30pm.
