Ohio River Rising But Will Not Reach Flood Stage Downtown

A record amount of rainfall on Monday and Tuesday in the TriState forced flood warnings across the region. While the Mill Creek, Licking River, Great Miami River and Little Miami River all topped flood stage, the Ohio River will not, at least not in downtown Cincinnati. The current forecast has the Ohio cresting here on Thursday at 44 feet which is six feet below flood stage downtown.

After topping flood stage on Tuesday, both the Mill Creek at Evendale and the Little Miami River at Kings Mill have both crested and have fallen back within their banks. The Great Miami has crested in Miamitown and is expected to slip below flood stage on Friday. The worst flooding is occurring today along the Licking River in Falmouth. It is cresting about two feet over flood stage and should be back below 33 feet sometime tomorrow afternoon.
