( Cincinnati ) - The Reds are promising to work with fans now that the rest of spring training is cancelled, and Opening Day has been pushed back at least two weeks.
In the above statement posted to Twitter, the Reds call Thursday's announcements "unprecedented." Not long after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a ban on all gatherings of more than 100 people, Major League Baseball announced that the start of the 2020 season would be delayed, with no more games to be played in spring training.
The Reds say they'll work with fans, from season ticket members to single-game ticket buyers, in getting a credit for games in the regular season. Fans who bought tickets to spring training games directly through the Reds will simply get a refund.
The team says they'll communicate details to ticket buyers by April 3, 2020.
