( Fairfield, Ohio ) - Police say a man is dead after a confrontation with officers on Friday afternoon.
In a statement, Fairfield Police say officers were called to the Timber Hollow Apartments in a subdivision just off Dixie Hwy and S Gilmore Rd just before noon.
The initial call was for an ongoing domestic dispute between a couple. Officers say when the man arrived, he got into a confrontation with police and pulled a gun. Police say he was subsequently shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers were injured in the incident.
The officers involved are now on paid leave while the state Bureau of Criminal Investigations goes over what happened.
